In the "burn!" mobile installation by Tobias Tavella in 2021, you'll encounter a captivating blend of natural and man-made elements. On one side, you'll find branches from the "passeggiata San Oswaldo," which were part of a forest ravaged by a fire set by an arsonist during the summer of 2022. These burned branches are a haunting reminder of the destructive force of fire and the resilience of nature in the face of adversity.
Complementing the burned branches are steel tubes, connected with strings, which transform this tragedy-stricken wood into a slowly moving mobile. This mobile sways gently, influenced by the airflow in the room and the presence of passersby, making us ponder the aftermath of the fire and the ever-evolving nature of life. "burn!" offers a poignant exploration of the impact of human actions on the environment and the capacity of nature to regenerate even in the face of adversity, reminding us to appreciate the beauty in both endurance and rejuvenation.
