In the "thorn" mobile installation by Tobias Tavella in 2021, you'll discover a captivating blend of the wild and the man-made. On one side, you have branches from a wild lemon tree, covered in thorns and with a tough, hostile appearance. These branches illustrate the tenacity of nature, where even harsh conditions can foster growth, and they possess a natural defense mechanism that signals their resilience.
Complementing the thorned branches are brass tubes linked with strings, converting these branches into a slowly moving mobile. This mobile sways gently, influenced by the airflow in the room and the presence of passing viewers.
